    GBC Metals, LLC, doing business as Olin Brass, utilizes more than 60 different copper-based alloys to produce specialized sheet and strip products for a variety of end uses. Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic, and communication interconnects, as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage, and builders’ hardware. We currently have an opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager at our East Alton, Illinois, facility.


    Purpose of Role

    Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Manager maintains and manages the company’s processes and systems that link the Commercial and Operations teams in order to effectively manage customer demand and manufacturing capacity / capabilities. Additionally, the Manager facilitates the S&OP planning processes across all Olin Brass locations, works collaboratively and effectively with Sales, Planning, Manufacturing, Finance and Metals Purchasing to maintain cohesive operating plans in a dynamic environment.


    Core Accountabilities

    • Manage and continuously improve the tactical execution of the 18-month rolling S&OP process in order to effectively link customer demand with manufacturing capabilities for all business segments and manufacturing facilities.
    • Work collaboratively with key Production Planning and Inside Sales personnel to ensure customer bookings and block space commitments (weekly / monthly demand loads) align with the agreed upon capacity, mix, and facility loading models that are embedded in the S&OP to support OTP goals across the organization.
    • Coordinate / facilitate weekly and ad-hoc S&OP meetings designed to efficiently and effectively review status to current plans, identify any impediments to achieving those plans, and ensure countermeasures are in place.
    • Develop, deploy, and actively manage effective processes and systems (including the use of technological solutions) using a total cost approach for certain sub-contractor services in order to streamline that piece of the supply chain.


    Position Requirements

    1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing based Supply Chain or Production Planning role working directly with Commercial and Operations teams;
    2. Degree in business or technical related field;
    3. APICS CPIM certification and / or MBA degree preferred;
    4. Experience with project management, systems / process development, continuous improvement, and lean tools;
    5. Must be able to work collaboratively with all other departments within the organization and use effective written and verbal communication skills to establish common goals and resolve conflicts;
    6. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to changes in the internal and external environment, and develop solutions that meet our business strategy and organizational goals;
    7. Aspirations to live the Olin Brass vision and values;
    8. Strong financial analysis and computer skills with an emphasis on spreadsheet and presentation applications.
