    GBC Metals, LLC, doing business as Olin Brass, utilizes more than 60 different copper-based alloys to produce specialized sheet and strip products for a variety of end uses. Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic, and communication interconnects, as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage, and builders’ hardware.  We draw strength and success from the dedication of our employees, many of whom have spent decades working in our industry. We currently have an opportunity for a Treasury Manager at our Louisville, Kentucky, offices.


    Purpose of Role

    Reporting to the Treasury Director, this role will develop and manage credit risk analysis statistics for all Olin Brass customers; lead and maintain systems for invoicing to customers and cash application; lead and maintain systems for payable to suppliers; lead and develop Treasury staff and develop and implement corporate initiatives and strategies. This position partners with cross-functional teams including Operations, Sales and Marketing, Purchasing, Accounting, and Financial Reporting by serving as the subject matter expert on treasury-related topics.


    Core Accountabilities

    • Lead the Accounts Receivable, Credit and Accounts Payable staff to facilitate effective understanding of Treasury systems, processes and controls. Collaborate with Olin Brass employees to drive treasury performance.  
    • Ensure that structure, skills, and systems are appropriate and in place for all of Olin Brass’s treasury functions.
    • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close. Review reconciliations, journal entries, AP accrual and bank reconciliation.
    • Provide cash flow forecasts weekly and monthly that capture expectations for all of Olin Brass’ collections and payables functions. Provide actual to forecast variance explanations.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures. Manage Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Respond timely to all internal and external audit questions.
    • Complete AR and AP variance analysis to explain current month to prior period(s) variances.
    • Establish credit limits for each customer. Analyze customer’s financial performance and industry trends. Analyze the risk of each customer (ability to pay) giving consideration to potential profit from customer.
    • Manage relationships with external credit resource providers.
    • Analyze reports prepared by the Credit Analyst and lead the monthly AR management meetings providing Olin Brass’ leadership with up to date information regarding credit performance.
    • Initiate actions to ensure Olin Brass receivables are collected on time and that customers are aware of Olin Brass’s credit and collection systems policies and procedures.
    • Prepare and track daily activity, measuring customer’s credit performance while collecting all pertinent data available. Measure for achievement of prudent risk return relationship and asset investment in Accounts Receivable.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to drive effective performance with credit and collections activities. Develop a plan to visit key customers as determined by risk assessments in an effort to strengthen relationships, understand customer’s business and mitigate risk.
    • Actively review market segments and customer trends in order to predict potential credit risks.
    • Develop excellent accounts payable systems to provide appropriate controls and enhance information flow and accessibility.
    • Monitor AP posting activity to prevent delays.
    • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to improve the P2P process resulting in improved cash flow and an increase in first pass yield.
    • Facilitate cross-functional communications to assist with timely resolution of exception invoices.
    • Develop a plan with Purchasing to visit key suppliers in an effort to build relationships that can enhance Olin Brass’ cash flow.
    • Assist CFO and/or Treasury Director on Treasury activities, special projects and special analysis that arise in various business activities.


    Measures of Success:

    • DSO, DPO, DSD, ADD are monitored and all issues are reported and addressed;
    • Create effective KPI’s to measure operational performance and cost pertaining to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities;
    • Zero errors in cash application and accounts payables;
    • Forecast accuracy.


    Key projects:

    • Develop world class tools for Accounts Payable;
    • Develop world class Credit and AR analysis, monitoring, and reporting tools.


    Competencies and Qualifications

    1. BS degree in Finance or Accounting and 5+ years of treasury, accounts receivable, credit and accounts payable experience.
    2. CTP a plus
    3. Problem solving skills and knowledge of tools for that purpose.
    4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    5. Ability to lead and develop people, while ensuring that team members are fairly assessed and consequences are dealt out, both positively and negatively.
    6. Ability to plan 1 year plus.
    7. Ability to organize people, information, and systems to enhance overall effectiveness.
