    GBC Metals, LLC, doing business as Olin Brass, utilizes more than 60 different copper-based alloys to produce specialized sheet and strip products for a variety of end uses. Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic, and communication interconnects, as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage, and builders’ hardware. We currently have an opportunity for a Manager – Warehousing, Shipping & Logistics at our East Alton, Illinois, facility.

    Responsibilities

    Purpose of Role

    • Lead a team at our East Alton, Illinois, facility and oversee the shipping and warehousing processes and systems across all Olin Brass locations.
    • Accountable for all freight movements within Olin Brass.
    • Responsibilities include managing our transportation management system (TMS), driving best practice logistics policies and procedures, managing intercompany transfers of material, developing and deploying warehouse solutions for efficient movement of inventory, and overseeing freight payment / claims activities.
    • Work across multiple departments such as Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to safely support on time performance and customer satisfaction goals as well as internal material movements.

    Core Accountabilities

    • Maintain effective working relationships with all Carriers while working collaboratively with Strategic Sourcing on carrier selection processes in order to achieve budgeted freight spend goals.
    • Manage our TMS logistics system and lead all freight payment and claims activities.
    • Develop and deploy best practice logistics polices that support both internal goals and objectives and customer requirements.
    • Champion all internal and external regulatory and compliance initiatives, including SOX processes, DOT regulations, import / export regulations, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

    Qualifications

    Position Requirements

    1. Bachelor Degree in Business, Logistics Management, or related technical field.   APICS certifications preferred;
    2. 10 years’ experience in logistics, shipping, and warehouse roles, preferably in a customer facing environment;
    3. Leadership experience across multiple locations;
    4. Experience with regulatory compliance, customs regulations (both import and export), knowledge of ocean freight movements and ITAR regulations a plus;
    5. Knowledge of commercial Incoterms and their impacts on the business. Must be aware of external influences such as legislation, fuel costs and environmental pressures;
    6. Ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally through strong interpersonal and communication skills;
    7. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
