Overview

GBC Metals, LLC doing business as Olin Brass, utilizes more than 60 different copper-based alloys to produce specialized sheet and strip products for a variety of end uses. Primary markets for our high-performance products include automotive, microelectronic, and communication interconnects, as well as a long history in the supply of standard alloys in the manufacture of ammunition, coinage, and builders’ hardware. We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator at our East Alton, Illinois, office.

Responsibilities

Purpose of Role

Responsible for providing a full range of support by managing day-to-day administration of various HR policies and procedures primarily focused in Labor Relations functions.

 

Core Accountabilities

  • Provide general administrative duties including filing, mailing, scanning, faxing, and coordination of meetings.
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, policies, and memos.
  • Process Workers’ Compensation claims and facilitate communication between the Company and third-party administrators.
  • Record and maintain incoming grievances, discipline, and other related labor documents.
  • Collects and analyzes data from SharePoint and HRIS system.
  • Develops and conducts training for managers and bargaining unit employees related to the Automated Grievance System (AGS).
  • Maintain Human Resources Website through SharePoint.
  • Maintains labor relations records through SharePoint, gathering documentation, closing of grievances, reporting, and provide appropriate information to specific Union.
  • Assist in researching and drafting new and revised policies and procedures.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
  • Responsible to run weekly manual checks.
  • Performs special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience;
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of work related experience, preferably experienced working with Unions;
  3. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills essential;
  4. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality;
  5. Effective verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and work within a team structure in support of company objectives;
  6. Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and confident in independent decision-making;
  7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  8. Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills;
  9. Experience with HRIS and SharePoint preferred.
